Course Description

This beginner to intermediate class will feature a mix of different conifers, junipers and pines.  Students will get hands on experience of working with collected material from the club’s grow plot. The primary focus being what to look for in creating bonsai, design and wiring will all be covered. The goal of this class is to come away with a tree that has it’s first initial styling and is on its’ way to becoming a bonsai.

Jennifer Price has been a member of Prairie State bonsai for 8 years. She is currently apprenticing under the direction of legendary bonsai artist Walter Pall. Jennifer enjoys a more naturalistic style of bonsai and specializes in difficult collected (yamadori) material. She is honored to be the only female bonsai artist to participate in Generation X and will have just returned from traveling in Germany where she will also be teaching workshops.
