Course Description

A kneeling woman works the soil with a spade.Protect your body from wear and tear so you can stay active in the garden for years to come. Learn ergonomic gardening techniques and how to select and use the right tools to help prevent injury and make gardening easy. Learn tips about personal care, including hydration and nutrition, that can lead to greater strength and stamina outside. Learn to stretch and bend properly to avoid muscle strain. Learn how good plant selection and good gardening practices can support growth with minimal effort.

Horticulturist Jan Hansen has been gardening for over 34 years. Through her years of practice, Jan has devised a number of innovative and practical methods for making the garden a much more comfortable and enjoyable working environment.
