Course Description

What does it take to fight wildfires? Get a boots-on-the-ground perspective from Midewin Hotshots. Learn how these men and women on the front lines train for a dangerous and demanding job, and the techniques and equipment used to extinguish wildfires. Hear about fires the crew has fought both nationally and internationally. Find out how wildfires are changing and what the future holds for our forests and the wildfire-fighting profession.

NOTE: Saturday afternoons in October are a busy time at the Arboretum! Please allow extra time at the gatehouse.
