Course Description

Learn how humans have used prairie plants on Learn how humans have used prairie plants on this summer hike. The prairie once served us as pharmacy, grocery store, fuel source, fortune teller, purveyor of love charms -- and so much more! Discover a different dimension of the prairie as you enjoy  vibrant summer blooms and grasses and learn about their many historical and traditional uses.

  • Notes: Held indoors and outdoors, includes light hiking on the prairie. Please dress for the weather. Limit 20
  • Supplies: A hand lens or binoculars may be useful, as will your favorite field guide.  Please bring a snack and a water bottle.
