Enjoy a unique opportunity to study and draw magnificent beetle specimens under the microscope. See up close the intricacies and subtle beauty of their wing covers, legs, and antennae. This three-week class will allow time for you to take notes, sketch, and make a careful study of the anatomy of these often underappreciated insects.
Instructor Karen A. Johnson is a member of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators (GNSI), and the Nature Artists’ Guild of The Morton Arboretum, where she has taught for many years. She has bachelor’s degrees from Iowa State University in biological illustration and entomology, the study of insects. Karen is known for her realistic depictions of flowers and insects.
