Many perennials are in bloom this week at The Morton Arboretum. In the Ground Cover Garden and vicinity, you’ll see cool shades including pale blue amsonia (Eastern blue star), deep blue salvia, light blue catmint, yellow false indigo, and purple alliums, and geraniums. Shrubs in bloom in the Hedge Garden and elsewhere include pale lavender Miss Kim lilac and Little Joe white viburnum. Among the trees, pagoda dogwoods and fringe tree have white flowers. A wide array of flowers are in bloom in the Schulenberg Prairie and around Meadow Lake, while the peonies along the north end of Joy Path are just beginning to bloom.
