Thursday Family Nights return to The Morton Arboretum

Beginning June 13, The Morton Arboretum is bringing back its popular Thursday Family Nights, an after-hours event where families can enjoy extended time in the Arboretum’s award-winning Children’s Garden.  This weekly event will include live music and kid-friendly entertainment, all against the backdrop of the Arboretum’s lush greenery and towering trees.

Thursday Family Nights will take place from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. every Thursday from June 13 through August 15, 2019 (except July 4) in the Children's Garden.  Visitors are invited to explore the Children’s Garden as well as the Maze Garden.

The weekly entertainment schedule will feature popular, family-friendly musical artists including:

  • June 27      ScribbleMonster
  • July 4         No Event
  • July 11       Farmer Jason
  • July 18       Super Stolie—Bilingual Sing-along

“Thursday Family Nights have become one of our most popular family events at the Arboretum,” said Jenelle Hardtke, special events manager at The Morton Arboretum. “Many of our visitors come year after year, making Family Nights an annual tradition. It’s an activity that can  build memories that will last a lifetime. We are delighted to be able to keep those traditions alive by adding new performers and special events each year.”

In addition to the live music schedule, this year’s Thursday Family Nights will also include special themed programs on June 20 and July 18.

On Thursday, June 20, The Arboretum invites visitors to enjoy Family Pride Night.  Featuring the music of Todd Downing and his Choose Kindness performance, Family Pride Night will celebrate the importance of families, including LGBTQ homes, with a memorable evening of outdoor games, crafts, music, and more.

On Thursday, July 18, visitors will enjoy a special Bilingual Sing-Along with featured performer, Super Stolie. This night will celebrate our international connections with an evening of crafts, games, and music featuring a bilingual English-Spanish mix of new and traditional canciones (songs).

Thursday Family Nights are free for members. Nonmembers enjoy $5 admission after 4:30. No registration is required. For more information, visit mortonarb.org.
