  • Troll Hunt

    A close-up of the troll's large toes. The troll is created from reclaimed wood.
    From May 7 through June 21, 2018, artist-in-residence Thomas Dambo uses discarded wood to create six giant trolls, guardians of the forest, who will inhabit the Arboretum. The full hunt begins June 22, 2018!
  • Build-a-Tree Eco-Workshop

    A tree made out of paper towel rolls, bottle caps and Popsicle sticks
    Use natural and recycled materials to build your own nature keepsake to take home at The Morton Arboretum. Daily April and May, 2018, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

    Library Exhibit: Plant Hunters
    The exhibit features artifacts from the library’s special collection relating to famous plant hunters, and it explores modern conservation efforts by scientists at the Arboretum. Tuesdays-Saturdays, during regular library hours.

    Looking for a unique experience in the Children’s Garden At The Morton Arboretum? Rent a self-guided family backpack and enhance your visit. Available daily, April through October, 2018, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Vanishing Acts: Trees Under Threat Exhibit

    A visitor learning about endangered tree species by using the interactive panels
    Come learn about the gifts that the world's endangered trees give us—and how you can join the Arboretum in saving them. Daily, 7:00 a.m. - sunset
  • Nature Play Spaces

    Enjoy creative, unstructured outdoor play spaces, Mud Kitchen near Parking Lot 20 and Word Garden near Parking Lot 13. Daily, weather permitting, 7:00 a.m. to sunset
  • Home is Where Your Tree Is

    A squirrel is sitting in a tree and looking at you.
    Roots, bark, branches and leaves, trees are home to many creatures. Come discover who calls a tree home and make a tree charm to take home. Daily in May, 2018, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
